Best Buy Debuts Collection of Connected Fitness Products to Help Consumers Use Technology for Healthier Lives | Business Wire

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Working out just got even more high-tech. Today, Best Buy announced a

new collection of connected fitness products from some of the world’s

most innovative exercise companies including Flywheel

Sports, NormaTec,

Hyperice,

Hydrow

and NordicTrack.

The new assortment is part of the company’s commitment to helping

customers use technology to live better, healthier lives.

The new products – including connected bikes and rowing machines. A

recovery system loved by professional athletes – will help customers get

an exciting, personal and effective workout without leaving their home.

Many products virtually connect users with world-class fitness trainers

to help them stay motivated, have fun and get the most out of their

workout.

The collection is available now on BestBuy.com, with a new, dedicated

fitness space coming to more than 100 stores by the end of the year.

“We know there’s a growing intersection between fitness and technology,

and no one knows tech like we do,” said Jason Bonfig, Chief

Merchandising Officer. “We’ve promised our customers we’ll help enrich

their lives, including their health and wellness, by using technology.

This is a great example of how we’re living up to that commitment.”

Best Buy’s Blue Shirts and In-Home Advisors will receive special

training to help customers discover, understand and purchase the

equipment, whether in a store or in their homes. Best Buy and Geek Squad

will manage delivery and installation. Total Tech Support members

will get 20 percent off these services.

The new collection is just the latest example of Best Buy’s growing

commitment to health. Last summer, Best Buy acquired GreatCall, a leader

in connected health for the active aging, which offers easy-to-use

mobile products and customer care services to help older adults live

more independently. Also, the company has always been the go-to

destination for products like activity trackers and smart scales, more

recently adding telehealth devices to its shelves.

Best Buy’s fitness collection will include:

  • Flywheel Home Bike: An indoor cycling experience from Flywheel

Sports with easy-to-follow metrics that brings live and on-demand

classes from the country’s best instructors, hand-picked from their 42

studios nationwide right into the comfort of your home.

  • NormaTec PULSE 2.0 Recovery System: A dynamic compression

recovery system trusted by more than 97 percent of professional sports

teams and elite athletes. The patented Pulse technology increases

blood circulation and reduces pain and soreness, helping athletes warm

    up and recover.

  • Hyperice: A suite of technology-driven recovery products

including percussion devices and fitness rollers. All Hyperice

technology will speed up muscle recovery and improve mobility.

  • Hydrow: A connected rowing machine that brings a real-life

rowing experience to the living room. Includes real-time and on-demand

classes from world-class athletes, live on the water, from actual

serene locations like Miami and Boston.

  • NordicTrack: A selection of connected treadmills and studio

cycles that help users stay motivated and achieve results with iFit,

an interactive and personalized training system among a community of

    more than 1.3 million members.

“Fitness and wellness technology is evolving at an incredible pace and

we’re excited that Best Buy is helping Americans live better, healthier

lives through their consumer tech expertise. From wearable devices that

track performance, to being able to stream exercise content anywhere, we

see new opportunities for certified personal trainers and their clients

to stay on track through smart and safe fitness experiences,” said

Laurie McCartney, President, National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
